Marius is a Canadian freelance journalist with a passion for telling stories through words, pictures and film. Specializing in writing about cultures and societies of the world, he has recently shifted his focus onto human rights, corruption, and the environment.
After completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Biology, as well as a master’s degree in English, he settled in South Korea and taught English and Media at Busan University of Foreign Studies. During this time he also freelanced in Thailand and Indonesia and participated in an internship with The Jakarta Post. Marius regularly contributes photography and articles to various magazines, newspapers, and guidebooks.
With a C1 fluency in Spanish, Marius has relocated to Santiago, Chile to take part in a study abroad for his second master’s degree in Journalism, Media and Globalisation at Aarhus University in Denmark in conjunction with The University of Amsterdam. He has recently completely his debut documentary entitled ‘Dance With Somebody’ and has been commissioned by Chasing Lights to film a short travel documentary about the Northern Lights in Tromsø, Norway. When not working he can be found cycling, hiking, or training Thai boxing.
From research and data analysis all the way to story visualization and final production, Marius is involved as a writer, editor, translator, producer and videographer.
